The Lector proclaims the Sacred Scriptures for the worshipping community during the Eucharistic Celebration and other liturgical celebrations.

Anyone who joins this Ministry needs to have the following spiritual qualities among other qualities:

1. Leads a good life
2. Has a good character
3. is ready and willing to serve

Besides the above qualities, oratory skills are needed. Reading the Word of God is not just any reading – it is Liturgical reading.

1. Youth after the tenth standard and adults are welcome to join.
2. Meetings are held once a month on the third Sunday; attendance at meetings and assignments is a must.
3. Training is imparted.
4. Practices are taken to improve the Proclamation of the Word of God.
